brooke burns

Although we don't see why it's necessary, Brooke Burns is set to prove to legions of fans and new audience members that she is not just another pretty face. Athletic, graceful and smart, Burns has more assets than those that are most obvious. A former ballet dancer and competitive swimmer, her acting skills and comedic touch are nothing to shake a stick at. Admittedly, it's fun to look at stills of her resuscitating people on Baywatch and imagine the possibilities, but it's certainly refreshing to know that all her eggs are not in one basket.

With more credentials than most other Baywatch alumni (aside from supposed singer David Hasselhoff), Burns also boasts an adventurous personality, including a love of motocross. She's even quite well-spoken and educated, representing causes ranging from saving endangered sharks to protecting abused children.

After a TV hiatus thanks to her split from Baywatch, we're glad we can stop sending threatening letters to television networks demanding we get our Brooke Burns fix once a week, now that she is the host of NBC's Dog Eat Dog. She's hot, smart and tough, delivering a killer three-hit knockout that can only propel her to impressive heights.

Although often mistaken for a dumb blonde, Burns has a taste for life and an adventurous character to round out her looks. As demonstrated on Fear Factor, she can take her lumps if it's for the sake of a new experience.

There is a funny side to her too, as showcased in small roles in Shallow Hal with Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as in Ally McBeal. It's clear that she has the charisma necessary to be a TV star because even as she tones down her sex appeal, Burns is still able to dig deep and draw large audiences.

Aside from the obvious acting skills she has, Burns can proudly say that being a professional ballet dancer was not far off. If not for a skiing accident, her 12 years in dance could have amounted to something special. So could have her modeling experiences, were it not for the lure of television and all the fame it can bring. For someone who pursued a modeling career and grew to celebrity status on Baywatch, Burns has a large palette of attractive traits to her disposal.

Blonde bombshell comes to mind while looking at Brooke Burns. She has the measurements and features that hardly need explanation. Every inch of her is hot. Heck, we'd even go for the heel of her foot. It could even be our new fetish...

After her dreams of being a ballet dancer were shattered with an unfortunate injury, Burns focused her attention on her natural talents: modeling and acting. Burns' first appearances on anything of significance were in advertisements for Mug Root Beer and Carrows Restaurants. Out of the Blue, filmed in Orlando, Florida, was the first actual show in which she appeared as a regular.

Since the show enjoyed only minimal success, Burns decided that a change of venue was in order. She moved to the West Coast and soon after auditioned for a role on Baywatch, one of the highest rated television shows in history. She was called back by the producers and was cast as Jessie Owens, putting her in the spotlight for the first time.

Brooke Burns followed up her success with appearances in A Nero Wolfe Mystery and the 2001 film, Shallow Hal. Burns continues to add to an impressive resume with her current gig as host of Dog Eat Dog, a game show that blends physical and mental challenges.

One does not have to stare for long in order to discover the appeal of Brooke Burns. Your eyes are sure to immediately land on her blonde hair and beautiful face, and by the time you follow her curves down to her legs, there is no wondering why she became a Baywatch babe. She has it all and more.

Even as a game show host, Brooke brings taste and sexiness to the screen with her various outfits. Of course, there is not much she can't pull off, but every time she makes an appearance, there is certainly nothing to complain about.

A Southern belle, Brooke Burns was born in Dallas, Texas, on March 16th, 1978. The middle child of three siblings, Burns learned solid family values from her supportive parents. Her mother encouraged her from a young age to pursue her dream, which, since kindergarten, was to become a ballet dancer.

Unfortunately, a serious ski accident stopped Burns' dreams in their tracks; she was unable to perform the flexible moves needed to become a top tier dancer. Mrs. Burns, convinced of her daughter's unique talents, sent her to do some modeling as a solid back-up plan. At 16 years old, Brooke Burns began to appear in European and American fashion magazines, already a recognizable face and still in high school.

The photo lens was soon traded in for the video camera, when Burns started hamming it up in commercials for Mug Root Beer and popular restaurants. Her appearances translated into a successful audition for Out of the Blue, a show filmed on location at Sea World, in Orlando, Florida.

After her moderate success in Florida, Burns decided a change was in order. She decided to move to Los Angeles, where opportunities for budding actresses seemed to be readily available. Soon after, she auditioned for a role on Baywatch and while she didn't get the part, she was eventually called back to fill a permanent role as Jessie Owens. It was her big break.

After developing a cult following on Baywatch and Baywatch Hawaii, Burns decided to leave the show at age 22 when she discovered that she was pregnant. The father was recent hubby Julian McMahon of the WB show, Charmed. In addition to her Baywatch role, Burns appeared in several episodes of Ally McBeal, where she played a fictional character in Calista Flockhart's delusions.

After baby Madison was born in 2000, Brooke turned toward movies and took a small yet significant role in the 2001 comedy Shallow Hal, where she played a woman whose inner beauty transforms her into a goddess. Her next big opportunity came after appearing in a celebrity edition of Fear Factor, where she leapt on top of a speeding double-decker bus.

Producers from NBC were impressed with her charisma and sense of adventure, and asked her to sign on as host of a new reality show/game show called Dog Eat Dog. She readily took the position and has enjoyed great Nielsen ratings since its recent debut.

Although her accomplishments are not walk-of-fame worthy, Burns has the wit and looks to last a long time on screen, whether it's small or silver. With her marriage over after some apparent issues with her husband's fidelity, we only hope she can remain on stable ground and continue to impress us with her, umm, hosting skills...
